Gosia Hanaway
Gosia is a passionate amateur photographer whose creative journey began in her early twenties. Originally from Toruń, Poland, she earned a Master’s degree in Education from Nicolaus Copernicus University before relocating to Ireland and then the UK to pursue a career in the education sector. Though her professional life has centred around teaching and community work, photography has remained a constant source of inspiration and self-expression.
Gosia’s photographic practice explores the textures of everyday life through two main lenses: the dynamic rhythms of urban environments and the quiet intricacies of nature. Whether capturing the geometry of cityscapes or the delicate beauty of a dew-covered petal, her work reflects a deep curiosity and reverence for the often-overlooked details of the world around us. She has recently developed a strong interest in microphotography, drawn to the way small, seemingly mundane subjects can reveal unexpected forms of beauty.
In the spirit of Tapestry of Voices, Gosia’s work contributes a unique perspective to the collective narrative. Her lens does not speak through portraiture or direct storytelling but rather through moments of contrast and connection—between nature and the built world, the intimate and the expansive. These images act as visual meditations, reminding us that every environment holds its own stories. In celebrating the quiet and the overlooked, Gosia’s photography honours the diverse voices that shape our shared spaces and histories.
