Angelica Sham
Angelica Sham is a part-time photographer who captures dynamic moments across a wide range of dance scenes—from stage productions and pole dance performances to Latin dance competitions. Her journey began with black and white film photography, earning a BFA in Art with a concentration in Photography from San José State University, where she graduated cum laude. Her early focus on composition and design now informs her pursuit of capturing movement.
Angelica’s current work reflects her deep appreciation for dance in all its diverse forms. Drawing from her own dance experience, she combines choreography with a photographer’s eye to create compelling images that share a story from a single 8-count.
Across cultures, dance is more than performance—it is a living archive of heritage, emotion, and identity. Her work serves as both celebration and preservation of the cultural voices embodied in dance—voices that are too often overlooked in mainstream arts. By capturing these moments, she hopes to honor and uplift past and present communities left unheard.
